Starfield is finally among us, after so long of leaks and speculation players can get their hands on Bethesda’s new RPG, which comes with a barrage of bad and good reviews, but also numbers. Much can be said about the launch but there’s nothing to speak against the fact that the title attracted a large amount of audiences before the full debut, with rumors suggesting up to 2 million players jumped in via early access.
This remarkable level number represents the interest, enthusiasm and anticipation fans had to dive into Starfield and explore the vast expanses of space, that may have been exaggerated in some views compared to the final result.
Starfield Early Access Hit Stunning Two Million Players Mark
The so distant September 6th has arrived and with it the launch of Starfield shakes the world of video games. Now, anyone who has purchased the title at full price or everyone that already had Game Pass can install and enjoy the title on their PCs or Xbox Series X/S. But that doesn’t change the journey of many (many indeed) during Starfield’s Early Access.
The PlayTracker platform, which finds and disseminates various data from the world of video games, estimated that Bethesda’s new release reached more than 1 million players on Steam. Meanwhile, Xbox versions including the Xbox Series X/S and even some PCs have also reached over 1 million players.

According to the PlayTracker post made on Twitter/X:
“Based on our user sampling data so far, PlayTracker estimates Starfield has far surpassed the 1M player milestone on both Steam and XBOX with just the Premium Edition buyers.
Sampling data comes in slowly, with a delay. Full launch is tomorrow, we’ll be watching the fireworks.”

But a caveat was also cited that the platform always remembers about how estimates are made:
“Distilled down to its basics: we count how many people in our sample have a game and then extrapolate that onto the world to estimate total players.”

Also worth noting is PlayTracker uses machine learning to make some guesses from a smaller sample of verified users who share their data. In any case, Starfield is already a guaranteed success, but we in the gamer community are anxious to know the definitive numbers are for the game.
