It’s not long until Starfield finally arrives and the hype amongst fans is understandably at an all time high. And amidst the plans to explore the massive universe, fans can design their own starships but more importantly, focus on their character build.
And one fan has went one step further by turning to the community and asking if they could assist with the detailed character builder in turning their character into the player’s late father, who has sadly passed away.

Starfield request saw an outpouring of support
Reddit user FunkyPunk1995 had shared a post that they were looking to use the character builder to memorialise their late father. Who unfortunately due to motion sickness was unable to play video games but had always shared an interest in the concept of exploring the galaxy and character building in Starfield.
And FunkyPunk1995 posted up this request for aid from the community;
“I would LOVE it if someone who is great with character creators could help me model my player character after my father. I’m just really not good at making in-game characters look anything like what I want. I just don’t have an artist’s brain.”
They followed up this up be saying that they would be willing to pay for someone to take up this request;
“If anyone would like to help … I would be willing to pay you for your efforts. The thought of being able to let my dad explore the galaxy like that really does warm my heart and brings me some comfort, so thank you to anyone who helps.”

It’s no surprise that since the post went up, the OP has received an overwhelming amount of responses offering support and others offering up their assistance. The following were just a few of the (many) responses;
“If I had the game currently I would be more than willing to help ya”
“Idk if I’d be any good at it, but post his pic and I’ll try as soon as the game is out!”
It really is amazing to see so many pull together and show their support for someone like this and we saw one post which offered support and we thought was very apt for what FunkyPunk1995 was attempting to do;
“Real sorry to hear that. In a way what you’re trying to do is absolutely poetic. He’s gone but he will be with you through yet another journey, this time in the stars together.”
Isn’t it amazing to see the community come together in times like these and help people they’ve never met? It’s no doubt been a difficult time for them and we can only hope they realise their goal when the game launches on 6 September. And given the numerous offers received, we don’t think they’ll have any problem achieving this.
