Arnold Schwarzenegger has had several iconic encounters during his iconic Hollywood years. Star Wars actor Mark Hamill had once talked about Schwarzenegger back when the Star Wars franchise was at its peak fame.
Talking about his unique accent, Mark Hamill suggested Schwarzenegger that he lose the accent and also lose his last name. The actor obviously ignored the advice and now… he is $432 million richer than Hamill!
When Mark Hamill Adviced Arnold Schwarzenegger To Lose The Accent
When his days of professional bodybuilding came to a standstill, Arnold Schwarzenegger wished to join Hollywood. Back in 1970, the actor starred in a movie called Hercules in New York but his heavy Austrian accent was dubbed over by an American voice artist.
After Mark Hamill became famous for starring as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Schwarzenegger once went to Hamill for advice. Talking about how to make his Hollywood career go boom. Hamill had quite interesting advice to give to The Terminator actor. As per the reports, Mark Hamill told the actor to lose his heavy Austrian accent. He further suggested that Schwarzenegger lose his last name and come up with a stage name to get him more projects in Hollywood.
The veteran actor chose to ignore the advice and following some years, found worldwide fame by starring in and as James Cameron’s The Terminator in 1984. As per the recent celebrity net worth, Mark Hamill had a total net worth of $18 million to his name. As far as Arnold Schwarzenegger is concerned, the actor had a whopping $450 million to his name. Hamill and Schwarzenegger had a net worth difference of $432 million so clearly…the advice did not help.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Does Not Dwell On The Past
Although the actor starred recently in a Netflix mini-series titled Arnold, Schwarzenegger is not a person who likes to dwell on the past. In a recent interview, Schwarzenegger talked about how he hated every minute of shooting the Netflix docu-series.
“I just find [looking forward] more inspiring and motivating than looking in the past. Together, the book and Netflix documentary were meant to address the question of ‘how do we celebrate my life?.’ Which is complicated… There’s just so much there [in my life] that I’m not so aware of because I’m not the sort of person who looks back.”
From what the actor said about his past, it seems that Schwarzenegger may have been through a lot. No matter the case, fans and Schwarzenegger is glad that he did not take Mark Hamill’s advice since his accent became quite an iconic one. The docu-series called Arnold is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
