Leonard Nimoy, the American actor-director, will forever be hailed by the world as Star Trek’s Spock. Portraying the half-human, half-Vulcan science officer who imparted his stoic wisdom, Nimoy fully embraced his role while being in the industry for more than 60 years. However, battling Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the legendary actor died in 2015 at the age of 83.
Sharing a fulfilling life with his wife, two children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, Leonard Nimoy wilfully expressed his thoughts with his family and the world at large. Tweeting his last words during his final hours, the actor imparted his wisdom one last time to the world.
Leonard Nimoy Battled Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Best known for portraying the role of Spock in the Star Trek universe, Leonard Nimoy started his Hollywood career with mostly supporting roles and TV shows. Serving the entertainment industry for more than six decades, the late actor appeared in Untouchables, Perry Mason, and more such television opportunities. However, he came to the limelight only after his role as Spock in 1966.
Being one of the best fan-favorite characters on screen, Leonard Nimoy even claimed Spock as his best performance. Staying loyal to the franchise, Nimoy starred as the alien in Star Trek till 2013. He also appeared in the Mission Impossible series, before his health deteriorated due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Battling the ailment over time Nimoy suffered major complications.
Diagnosed in 2014 with COPD, Nimoy had almost reached the end of his life. Suffering from emphysema, bronchitis, and breathing issues, the actor slipped into a coma on February 25, 2015. Eventually causing widespread shock and grief all-round the globe, the actor died at the age of 83 on February 27, 2015.

Leonard Nimoy Shared His Last Words With World Via Twitter
According to his wife Susan Bay, Leonard Nimoy remained distressed during his final days and hoped for his end to come sooner than ever. Being in substantial pain for a couple of weeks before his death, the actor left for the afterlife, battling COPD. However, following the widespread grief across the science fiction community, Nimoy shared his wisdom one last time with the world.
Surrounded by his wife, two children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, Nimoy had a fulfilling life. Thus, before passing away Leonard Nimoy shared some final thoughts with the world at large, via Twitter. “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP” the actor tweeted.
Signing off with his classic abbreviation LLAP – long live and prosper, Leonard Nimoy imparted his wisdom to the world before passing away. Expressing his personal feelings for his children, despite their odds, the actor left without regret. Nimoy’s memories remain immortal with his performance as Spock in Star Trek. RIP Leonard Nimoy.
