Spider-Man: No Way Home is a soft reboot that allows Holland’s Peter Parker to become his own man. He is no longer the shadow of Tony Stark and has gained his individuality. No Way Home is a rocky ride for Holland and the fans as well. By the end of the movie, Peter decides that the only way to save the universe is to make everyone forget who Peter Parker is. Spider-Man: No Way Home Plot Holes Addressed
After the death of Aunt May, Peter doesn’t have anyone else in his immediate family. Hence, during the climax, he really doesn’t think too much before wiping his slate clean. But in the real world, it doesn’t sound so easy. Fans instantly started questioning whether he would have to file his taxes, get a driver’s license, and so on. Now, Spider-Man: No Way Home writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna have talked about this with Variety. They said the following:
“We decided, let’s try to do it in the most satisfying way and just focus on the emotion of it. And then if people have questions about some of those details that didn’t get answered here, we’ll answer them hopefully in another movie somewhere down the line. Obviously, some sort of magical redaction has occurred. At the end of all this, we didn’t want a lot of people trying to do magical math in their heads. You want to have that doughnut scene be him making the last piece of the sacrifice,” McKenna continued. “I could tell them everything. I can try to get my friends back. But I’d be going right back to the place of endangering my loved ones by bringing them into my life. And I can’t have that.”
