Kevin Feige Gets Trolled for Saying Fantastic Four Update is Coming Soon, Ask Marvel Boss To Get a Merriam-Webster

Fans have been disappointed with how things currently are at the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the projects that have been released so far. This is why, they are looking forward to hearing more about the upcoming, exciting projects, including Fantastic Four. Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel, recently sat down for an interview and took a deep dive into the world of MCU.

While the universal definition of the word “soon” is “after a short period of time,” it sure seems like the Marvel Studios missed that memo. Soon couldn’t come soon enough for them! In the interview, Kevin Feige talked about the movie that most fans are looking forward to – Fantastic Four. He stated that updates regarding the film will be released soon. However, fans of the MCU know what that actually means!

During an exclusive interview with EW, Kevin Feige talked about everything from Marvel’s Phase 4 to the MCU being a space for everyone. Towards the end, the President of the studios landed on the topic of the upcoming Fantastic Four.

While there have been attempts to bring the story of one of Marvel’s most iconic families to life, they have all more or less, failed to truly knock the socks off the audience. Fans have a lot of expectations with the MCU when it comes to Fantastic Four which is why they want them to do everything right. However, with expectations come a lot of questions and speculations. From the casting to how the story fits into the already established multiverse, fans are hoping to get some insights about the film in the near future.

It seems like Feige understands the excitement and restlessness of the fans as during the interview he stated that Fantastic Four will be a pillar of the superhero universe going forward and that fans will get to hear more about the film “soon.”

“People will start to hear more about that soon. We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they’ve been in the comics for 50 or 60 years.”

But as history has it, “soon” could mean anything from a few months to more than a year and MCU fans are pretty aware of this. They took to Twitter to state that the word “soon” is usually thrown around without any real intention. Some fans even stated that in the next that nterview Feige is on, someone should show him what the word actually means in a dictionary. Check out Twitter’s reaction.

When do you think we’ll get to hear something about Fantastic Four? We sure hope it’s soon (the one with the real meaning) as we cannot wait to see which path Marvel takes with the super-family.

Kevin Feige is Most Excited for Fantastic Four

Feige reached the topic of Fantastic Four when he was asked if there are any projects set to release in the future that he is particularly excited about. He stated that apart from Secret Wars and Kang DynastyFantastic Four has to be the one project that has him all excited for MCU’s future.

“Well, we talked a little bit about Secret Wars. We talked about Kang Dynasty as related to Quantumania. The only other one in terms of me personally and my 23-year history is the Fantastic Four. We sort of talked about mutants and that whole aspect to the Marvel world, but Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There’s certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us.”

It looks like Feige is only increasing the excitement of the fans. We hope that it stays that way and the movie is praised just like the movies before the Multiverse Saga used to be praised. All we have to do is hope that Fantastic Four does not end up falling victim to MCU’s slump, especially since the highly-anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has received disappointing ratings from critics so far!

Directed by Matt ShakmanFantastic Four will hit theatres on February 14, 2025.
