Once seen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 facing off against Andrew Garfield, The Rhino will finally be making a comeback in Kraven the Hunter. Okay, you can freak out now! As reported by Discussing Film, Sony revealed the teaser of the film starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and it is absolutely insane! Towards the end of the teaser, a man is heard saying, “Don’t you want to know why they call me The Rhino.” As the man says this, the teaser shows his arm transforming into a big, gray fist that obviously resembles that of a Rhinoceros. Chills. Literal Chills!

While the actor behind the iconic villain is not confirmed, there are speculations that Alessandro Nivola will be the one to carry out the task. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nivola talked about his role in the film without naming the character he will be playing.

“I only transform, physically, in the final moments of the movie so it’s just a classic villain role. It had a really interesting, complex psychology and personal history to draw on and the movie has a time jump in it, so the character changes a lot from the way he is in the beginning of the film.”

Even industry insider, Jeff Sneider, backs this claim as he stated that he recognized the actor’s voice in the trailer. All we have to do now is wait for official confirmation!

Kraven the Hunter is all set to make history as the film is going to be Sony’s first-ever R-Rated Marvel feature. In the video footage sent in by Taylor-Johnson at the CinemaCon, the actor confirmed this statement as he said, “Will it be rated-R? F*ck yes, it will be rated R!” Well, this just opened up a whole new door of possibilities!

In one of the moments of the teaser, Taylor-Johnson is seen mercilessly killing a group of poachers and he even takes a bite out of one of them and spits out a part of their skin. If the trailer is any kind of a hint, fans can expect a much darker tone in the film than seen before. During an interview with CBR, Russell Crowe, who plays Nikolai Kravinoff, described the film as “an unexpectedly dark world.”

Kraven the Hunter is scheduled to be released in theatres on October 06, 2023.
