Previously, Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith, publicly admitted that he and his family take psychedelic drugs. Psychedelics are illegal in most jurisdictions. Yet the 25-year-old actor claimed that it helped him in many ways.
The actor revealed that his mother, Jada Smith, introduced it to them. She has been very vocal about her indulgence in drugs. The actress previously shared that psychedelics helped her combat depression.
Jaden Smith claimed that Jada Pinkett Smith introduced his family to Psychedelics
Jaden Smith recently attended the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver. While speaking at the event, the actor said that his mother, Jada Smith, introduced his family to drugs. The Karate Kid actor said,
“I think it was my mom, actually, that was really the first one to make that step for the family. It was just her for a really, really long time and then eventually it just trickled and evolved, and everybody found it in their own ways.”
The actor further emphasized that psychedelic drugs helped him to be more affectionate and empathetic towards his family, especially with his sister Willow Smith and half-brother Trey Smith. The actor said,
“Siblings can argue so much and fight so much, and Lord knows me and my siblings have done so much of that in the past. But the level of love and empathy that I can feel for them inside of the [psychedelic] experiences and outside of the experiences has been something that’s profound and beautiful.”
The actor further went on to elaborate on the positive effects of drugs in his life. The actor claimed that psychedelics help shift to an open mindset and help break free from old thought patterns that lead to arguments.
Jada Smith reflected on her son’s claim
Jada Pinkett Smith has been vocal about her possession of drugs in the past. Previously, during an episode of the Red Table Talk show, the actress revealed that she has struggled with depression in the past, and to combat it, drugs have been of great help. The actress said, “I struggled with depression for so long. And the thing about the plant medicine is it helps you feel better but also solves the problems of how you got there in the first place.”
But what about Jaden Smith’s claim? Did Pinkett Smith introduce drugs to her children?
Pinkett Smith has answers to all these questions. When the actress was asked to opine on her son’s claim, she simply stated, “It all gets answered in the book.”
Pinkett Smith is soon going to release her memoir, Worthy, in which she has addressed every assumption made for her.
