Fans Accuse James Gunn of Picking Favorites For His DCU

After Henry Cavill’s departure, director Patty Jenkins, who was working on Wonder Woman 3 also decided to quit the project. Following her controversial walkout, it was deemed that Gal Gadot would also not reprise her role as Diana Prince in James Gunn’s DCU.

The Suicide Squad director was rumored to have been planning out a DCU where Zack Snyder’s project did not exist. Removing Henry Cavill was the first step but it seems that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is here to stay. As per the recent reports, there are two projects waiting to be developed over at the DC Studios. Both projects are directly connected to the Princess of Themiscyra and it seems that even James Gunn doesn’t want to (or can’t) let go of DCU’s Wonder Woman.

In a report by Comicbook.com, it was reported that James Gunn had stated publicly that he wanted to make a Wonder Woman animated series. Alongside the animated series, there are reports that the DCU is currently working on a series titled Paradise Lost. The upcoming series will take place within the Amazons on the island of Themiscyra. Suffice it to say, fans are fuming at the news since Gal Gadot became an integral part of the DCU but their beloved actor Henry Cavill had to depart from the franchise.

In a recent interview, the Israeli actress was asked about her thoughts on the new Superman and Lois Lane casting for the upcoming movie Superman: Legacy. Gadot was quite happy and wished the duo good luck for their future in the DCU.

In a recent interview, Gal Gadot was asked about her thoughts about David Corenswet as the new Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as the new Lois Lane. According to the actress, she hadn’t heard about who got the role but she wished them good luck for their future in the DCU.

“I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don’t know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great. So I’m happy for them. It’s such a huge take-on and it’s such an exciting beginning to any actor, and I wish whoever it’s going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride.”

There has been no confirmed news about the Wonder Woman Animated Series and no release date has been given for Paradise Lost. The SAG-AFTRA strike and the WGA’s protest could potentially affect the release dates as James Gunn and the DCU try to find some order in their chaos.
