Snyder Cut: Latest Trailer Features Martian Manhunter, Darkseid, and the Joker

With only a few days left to the release of the much anticipated Zack Snyder’s Justice League or more popularly known as the Snyder Cut, the promotions have begun in full fervor with the director posting new posters, photos, and clips to ramp up the hype. After years of anticipation, online petitions, and unflinching faith, Zack Snyder’s original version of the Justice League will finally be released on HBO Max, to hopefully redeem the catastrophe that was Joss Whedon’s Justice League (2017) which was both a critical and commercial failure.

In these past few weeks, the hype for Snyder Cut has reached new heights as fans can hardly wait for the original vision of Zack Snyder to materialize in its true glory. After releasing a thematic teaser of the Justice League members as ancient gods, with Superman once again portrayed in the image of Jesus Christ himself, Snyder’s latest teaser revolves around Batman as the Dark Knight finds hope after years of pain, loss, and suffering. However, the teaser also features the existential threat named Darkseid, the cackling laughter of the Joker, and the much-anticipated J’onn J’onzz aka Martian Manhunter. Here’s the full clip:

In the clip, Ben Affleck’s Batman dazzles in his full glory as he stands tall on the famous Bat-Tank inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. In the background, the voices of Alfred, Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, and Darkseid can be heard. But more interestingly, Martian Manhunter’s voice can also be heard when he says “I have a stake in this world and it’s time I started fighting for it“. The clip also features the redeeming aspect of the Dark Knight as he tries to unite the world’s greatest heroes to fight Darkseid. The teaser also features a shot of Superman helping Batman to climb up for the final shot of the entire team standing together. Last year, a few reports had emerged that the secret cameo in the Snyder Cut will be Martian Manhunter after Snyder confirmed that General Swanwick is the telepathic Martian.

As the Snyder Cut started getting attention after the critical failure of Whedon’s Justice League, Zack Snyder confirmed that he had hours of unused footage that he had planned for the original movie. However, a personal tragedy forced the director to step down. But nonetheless, the Snyder Cut will honor the memory of his deceased daughter who lost her life to suicide. If the trailers and multiple clips are to be believed, the Snyder Cut will be an entirely different movie from Justice League filled with Snyder’s aesthetics and much deeper exploration of the story and the characters. As Warner Bros. will not be going ahead with a sequel to the upcoming Snyder Cut, it is also possibly the last time to see Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Ray Fisher share the screen as members of the Justice League.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League/Snyder Cut will release on 18th March on HBO Max.
