Having a Sharon Stone story is a mark of significance in the industry, and Rob Morrow has one. In 1996, he landed a role opposite Stone in the movie Last Dance, centered around a death row inmate accused of a double murder. At that time, Stone was known for transitioning into more serious roles following her appearances in films like Casino and The Quick and the Dead.
In Last Dance, she portrayed the killer, while Morrow took on the role of her clemency lawyer, Rick Hayes. His character sought to argue that Stone’s client committed the murders in her youth while under the influence of cocaine.
Rob Morrow Shared His Experience Working With Sharon Stone
The movie received considerable criticism, partly due to its release following Sean Penn’s Oscar-nominated performance as a death row inmate in Dead Man Walking. Additionally, some skepticism arose from the idea of the magnificent Sharon Stone portraying a hardened convict. Despite the mixed reception, Morrow revealed on his Facebook page that he has always held a “soft spot” for the film.
“Most of my friends said it wasn’t good,” Morrow wrote. “The story deals w/redemptoin, which can be a hard pill for many of us to swallow, but essential for hope & progress.”
In a heartfelt post, Morrow shared how being mere inches away from Sharon Stone, he found himself captivated by her exquisite beauty, often causing him to momentarily forget his lines. The understanding director, Bruce Beresford, sympathized with Morrow’s infatuation.
“Every day, inches from @sharonstone I would get lost in her sublime beauty, often forgetting my lines,” Morrow wrote. “The great director @bruceberesford, sympathetic to my rapture, would give me a little poke and in his Aussie accent, he would whisper, ‘Rob, snap out of it, mate.'”
Last Dance failed to make a significant impact at the box office, grossing only $5.9 million worldwide. Additionally, Stone’s performance garnered her a Razzie Award.
Sharon Stone Had Tough Time Filming A Movie
According to reports, Stone recounted the terrifying experience of filming her first topless scene for the 1984 movie Irreconcilable Differences, which marked her debut film. Sharon Stone looked back on a daring and boundary-pushing scene from her illustrious career, which involved her appearing topless—a moment she candidly described as a “nightmare.”
The acclaimed actress, renowned for her iconic roles in films such as Basic Instinct and Casino, shared her perspective on this risk-taking scene that challenged viewers’ comfort levels. In an impactful revelation, the actress disclosed that the humiliation she experienced during the filming of her debut movie left a deep and lasting impact on her.
