Simu Liu has been as excited as all of the fans to see his character team up with other members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings saw the titular character meet various Avengers who were all curious about learning the origins of the Ten Rings. The expected meet of the characters was presumed to be in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, the actor says otherwise.
This team-up could take place anytime soon and neither the fans nor the actors would be upset about it. Liu confirmed that fans won’t have to wait as long as the sequel to his movie for the awaited crossover. Instead, they can see the heroes interact much sooner.
Simu Liu Confirms Shang-Chi And Other Characters Will Meet Soon
As of now, fans have seen Simu Liu‘s Shang-Chi interact with Wong, who is now the Sorcerer Supreme along with Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel. This was also the sequence that took place during the post-credit scene of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The actor confirmed that although there is no news about the sequel, his character will get to meet various Avengers even before the sequel gets released.
Furthermore, there is a possibility for Brie Larson to be a part of Shang-Chi 2. The two were seen together in the post-credit scene and it is known that now they are acquainted with each other. Fans have been asking to see their team up. The origins of the character’s rings are still unknown, however, it is confirmed that they are of alien technology and passing a signal somewhere.
“I’m such a big fan of both the characters and the performers that play them, so any collaboration is an opportunity for me to work alongside someone who, in their own way, is breaking barriers and at the very top of their game. I think that’s what excites me the most as a performer, also as a fan.”
He added that thanks to Destin Daniel Cretton, the producer of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as well as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, he will get to see many of the actors he admires. Although the sequel is nowhere near being completed, or even started, there is a lot that Cretton and Liu want to do. However, it is clear that Shang-Chi will meet Captain Marvel and the other characters sooner rather than later.
How Can Shang-Chi and Captain Marvel Meet?
Captain Marvel is already gathering up her superhero team with Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau’s Spectrum. Brie Larson has prepared for her upcoming role in The Marvels and is more than happy to see two more heroes join her team. Before her cameo in Ms. Marvel, Brie Larson appeared in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
It has already been established that Carol Danvers is interested in finding the origins of Shang-Chi’s rings. So it could be very easy for the two to meet, either of them holding information for the other. They both have superpowers that make them shine on their own accord. Their crossover has been one demanded much by the fans. They have been eagerly waiting to see how the two would interact if they came to meet face to face.
A way for Larson and Liu to be in the same movie could be that the signal that the rings had been giving out gets discovered by Captain Marvel ultimately. The two work together in trying to fight whatever is attracting the rings.
The Marvels will be available to watch in theatres from 10th November 2023.
