However, to fans’ disappointment, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet remained just friends and debunked their romance rumors. Further, the duo even made headlines after DiCaprio reportedly played a major role in Winslet’s wedding in 2012.

Although it’s been nearly 26 years, since we first saw Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet together as Jack and Rose on James Cameron’s Titanic, it still feels like yesterday. Meeting on the set of the infamous movie, not only did DiCaprio and Winslet spark onscreen romance as their film characters but also helmed an unbreakable bond in real life.
Jack and Rose’s relationship might have ended tragically but DiCaprio and Winslet’s friendship lived to tell the tale. Spotted together on several occasions, the duo even sparked romance rumors after their appearance in the movie. However, they both were quick to debunk the speculations and move past with their friendship goals.
“We found ourselves saying to each other, ‘Can you imagine if the world really knew the stupid things we say? I’m not going to tell you what we actually talk about, but yeah, we’re very, very close and sometimes we do quote the odd Titanic line back and forth to each other, because only we can, and we find it really funny” Kate Winslet revealed about her friendship with DiCaprio.
Further, even the actor shared a heartfelt message for the actress and proved his affection for her. Appearing on The Today Show, Leonardo DiCaprio confessed, “she’s still as beautiful and radiant as the day I met her”. He further added, “She is the consummate professional; she keeps pushing herself to an emotional truth when she’s working. That’s why I keep saying she’s the best.”
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Major Role In Kate Winslet’s Wedding
Despite all the heartfelt confessions and emotional words for each other, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet never engaged in more than just friendship. Thus, after debunking their dating rumors, the duo began seeing other celebrities in order to stop the speculations and headlines.
The plan evidently worked well for Winslet as she eventually found her long-term partner in Edward Abel Smith aka Ned Rocknroll, whom she married in 2012. Surrounding her secret wedding, rumors have it, Leonardo DiCaprio had a major role to play in it, and certainly not as the groom.
Sources confined to US Weekly, the Catch Me if You Can actor had the opportunity to reportedly walk Winslet down the aisle, and give her away. After the outlet broke the news, the actress’ reps confirmed, “I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock’nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family,”.
However, there was no confirmation about DiCaprio’s part in the actress’ wedding, as claimed by sources.
