Hugh Grant, the gentleman and the romantic, also happens to be a moody screamer, as it so happens, but it’s a rare thing. The film star who made his name and gained his fame via movies like Notting Hill and Maurice and Bridget Jones’s Diary is currently in the middle of filming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves when he exhibited a bit of an unruly side of himself, which coming from a veteran actor and a one as renowned for his chivalry as Grant can be a tad bit surprising to the public.
However, even the most patient of all people managed to lose his temper when the set alignment was ruined and he found himself lacking in polite conduct in the presence of a young woman who came to visit the set.
Hugh Grant Offends a Young Local Woman in Northern Ireland
On the sets of the latest game-to-movie adaptation, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the star-studded cast had an apparently normal day of shooting and filming when the locals gathered around the location triggered Hugh Grant and he grew exasperated with a young visitor on set. Recalling the event, the actor claims:
“I lost my temper with a woman in my eyeline on day one. I assumed she was some executive from the studio who should have known better. Then it turns out that she’s an extremely nice local woman who was the chaperone of the young girl. Terrible. A lot of grovelling…”
The event occurred in 2021 when the crew was located in Northern Ireland for on-location filming. As it turns out, however, this isn’t the only time Hugh Grant was rude to people around him. He was banned from The Daily Show With Jon Stewart in ’09 for rude behavior with the crew and members on the sets of the talk show. He later posted an apology on Twitter for his outburst.
