It seems that Tom Cruise’s controversial past is back to haunt the actor. With ties to the Church of Scientology, Cruise became notoriously infamous back in the early 90s and the 2000s. Slowly over the years, the actor stopped preaching about the Church of Scientology and the matter was put to rest.
American actress Leah Remini, known for her role in The King of Queens, blamed Tom Cruise for her misery. Calling Cruise the “second in command” in the chain of power, Leah Remini has filed a lawsuit against the Church of Scientology and its leader, David Miscavige.
Leah Remini Files A Lawsuit Against Tom Cruise’s Church of Scientology
The Church of Scientology has had various allegations and conspiracy theories thrown at them over the decades. Being an avid member of the church, Tom Cruise has also had his fair share of backlash and rumors spread about him back when he was very vocal about the practices of Scientology.
It seems that there may have been some truth after all to all the stories that people heard as American actress Leah Remini filed a lawsuit against the Church of Scientology. Stating that she has suffered 17 years at the hands of the Church of Scientology, Remini threw various allegations and stated that she has had enough of torture.
In her statement, Remini stated that she was given psychological punishments, and detained for four months at the church for asking questions about the missing wife of the church leader David Miscavige. A source talked about the current volatile situation and how Tom Cruise would be involved in this ordeal.
“I think that Leah will call Tom to be a witness. She claims that she was abused after his wedding, so why wouldn’t she call him? He’s a part of this.”
In her statement, Lah Remini called Cruise the “second in command” at the Church of Scientology. If the court case gains traction, this thing could turn out very bad for Cruise’s Hollywood career as he had faced a similar situation back in the 90s.
