The actress starred alongside the Stranger Things star Winona Ryder in the 1999 drama Girl, Interrupted. Based on a memoir of the same name, the movie follows a young woman, Susanna Kaysen, who spends a year and a half in a psychiatric hospital after attempting suicide.
Winona Ryder starred alongside Jolie, who portrayed Lisa Rowe, diagnosed as a sociopath. And talking about her experience working with the Oscar winner, Ryder shared that she felt her co-star kept herself distanced from her.

She claimed that the Eternals star kept her distance in a respectful way. The Beetlejuice actress also shared that it was also the time when Jolie was adamant to prove that she was so much more than a good face. “She wanted very much to be taken seriously and not just judged on her looks,” she said.
And Ryder believes that the 48-year-old actress has proved that with her work over the years. And while she praised the actress for her work, Ryder also claimed that she always knew that the character of Lisa Rowe in the movie was going to outshine her, no matter who portrayed her.
