Ben Affleck, who ended up reconciling with his long-lost love, Jennifer Lopez, married his Daredevil co-star, Jennifer Garner in 2005. The then-famed couple, known for their fight scenes and stunts in movies, often gave tough competition to each other. But again, during the shooting of the Mark Steven Johnson-directed movie, Affleck claimed that Garner shamed him as she was a better fighter than him.
Jennifer Garner Got Her Power Moves From Alias
During an interview with MTV News, Ben Affleck spoke about his then-wife, Jennifer Garner‘s fighting skills on the set of Daredevil. The actor, who played Daredevil in the 2003 movie, shared about his Garner’s role as Elektra:
“Jennifer’s great, she’s fabulous. She’s actually better at [the fighting] than I am. She has had so much training from the Alias thing and she’s a dancer, so she shames me every day.”
Jennifer Garner also expressed how she came in with experience, courtesy of spending a year at a boot camp where she fought every couple of days. She added, “So I came in, probably, more confident than Ben.”
However, she admitted that her then-husband caught in quickly and was a little cocky too, trying to crush her all the time. The $179.2 million movie showcases Elektra (played by Garner) as a Greek-American woman skilled in martial art. While Affleck’s career soared, Garner’s career couldn’t ever recover after this role.
Jennifer Garner Is A Forgiving Woman
One thing that’s most common between Bennifer is that the two have continued to hurt a lot of people in the process. Before marrying his decades-old lover, Ben Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005. The once-most-loved couple, however, witnessed a brutal end to their 13-year-old marriage as they divorced in 2018.
The uglier part was that Affleck was allegedly unfaithful to Garner. Reportedly, the Good Will Hunting actor cheated on her with their children’s nanny, Christine Ouzounian. In a previous interview, an acquaintance of the nanny revealed:
“For Christine, it was a real relationship. They had even talked about plans for celebrating his upcoming birthday on August 15.”
As for Affleck, he ended up giving a firm base to these rumors after he was caught hanging out with Ouzounian. But again, it was Garner who sided with her then-husband. She revealed that “People have pain—they do regrettable things,” and no one needs to hate Affleck for that. By then, Affleck was busy fixing his relationship with Lopez.
