While some critics praised the Don’t Look Up actress for her work in the film, its reception left her embarrassed. Nadia Cohen shared in her book that the actress was “embarrassed” about featuring in a movie that was received so badly by critics and audience.

And she also made a joke about it when she won the award for Best Supporting Actress at New York Film Critics Circle for David O. Russell’s 2013 film, American Hustle. “The critics have been very kind to me thus far in my career,” the Passengers star said.

She further stated, “But I guess I’m not receiving this for House at the End of the Street, so you guys must have missed that one, right?” While she did not find the film a delightful addition to her career, her co-star Elisabeth Shue, who portrayed her mother in the film, found her very generous and mature.

The Cocktail actress also shared that she is warm and generous and has a great sense of humor. She also suggested that Lawrence should try to feature in a comedy film, as she was popular for The Hunger Games, in which her character is quite serious. “She has a great, dry sense of humor. We definitely laughed a lot. She’s a really great personality,” Shue said about her co-star.
