Disney has been on a streak of live-action remakes and it would seem like Florence Pugh will become the latest addition to it. Florence Pugh has done a series of iconic characters and her range in films only gets bigger and bigger. She has associated herself with some of the biggest directors and actors, working on movies that easily hold a massive fanbase.
Seeing how Disney is working on a Moana remake, a movie that is not even a decade old; a remake of Tangled should be underway as well. Unlike other Disney movies, Tangled has been special amongst fans. The movie was a guilty pleasure to many and a favorite for most. So having the iconic actress take up the role could be an accurate casting. However, it pokes at Scarlett Johansson’s dream, who always wanted to be a Disney princess.
Florence Pugh Rumored To Become Rapunzel
Florence Pugh has done many roles before. From Yelena to Amy March, her range is absolutely impeccable. However, a recent flowing rumor might add an even more interesting role to her filmography. According to rumors, Disney is working on a Tangled live-action and Pugh is being considered for the lead role of Rapunzel.
Ahead of the SAG-AFTRA Strike, there is no confirmation about the project from Disney’s side. However, it would not be absurd to rule out the possibility. Not only had insiders reported the same, but rumors have been rising one after another. There were even rumors about a sequel being in the works as well. However, there is no confirmation on either project. What may be a knife to the chest is how Scarlett Johansson will have another one of her eye roles given to Pugh. Disney has been working on live-action remakes for a while now. From The Little Mermaid to Cinderella, the franchise has been working dedicatedly to making classic movies once again.
Scarlett Johansson Always Wanted To Be A Disney Princess
Scarlett Johansson has always expressed her wish to play a Disney princess at least once in her life. Having a young daughter, she wanted to make her dream come true. Although she was sure that it might never happen, the actress was not willing to give up on the dream.
“Right now I think we both share the dream that I will someday be a Disney princess, but it’s probably not going to happen. I’ve been asking for that job for the past 20 years, and nobody has booked me.”
It would seem that her dream will be at a standstill. The actress gave up her role as Black Widow to Florence Pugh, and now she might give up her Disney dream for the actress as well.
