Sandra Bullock has a series of blockbusters whether it be rom-com, drama, or thriller genre. Due to her iconic performances that captivated fans’ hearts, she even gained the Hollywood Sweetheart’s title. However, the ever-happy smiling face has gone through some extremely difficult times which she managed to pull off with great bravado.
Back in 2008, Sandra Bullock and her then-husband, Jesse James got involved in a head-on crash with a drunk driver. The incident occurred around the time when she was filming for her 2009 film, The Proposal. Police reported that the former pair were driven in a rented black SUV on East Main Street in Gloucester when they were hit by Lucile Gatchell of Gloucester.
As per the reports at the time, both vehicles, which were traveling 15 to 20 mph got totaled, but fortunately no one was hurt in the incident.
“They were shaken up, needless to say,” People quoted Gloucester Police Lieutenant Gerry Cook. “But they were fine.”
The other car’s driver registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 which is more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
The couple’s car was being driven by Mark Hussey who tried his best to get out of the way but all efforts were futile. As for Gatchell, he was arrested for being under the influence meanwhile a witness was reported to have dialled 911 at the time after the accident happened. As for Bullock, she was quite concerned about the drunken driver after feeling “gracious” that no one was hurt.
Had she been hurt (fortunately she was safe) it would have affected her career. It could have gotten way more serious than that but it all went well. However, her relationship with her then-husband couldn’t hold for long.
The Lost City actor first met with the Monster Garage host when she arranged for her ten-year-old godson to meet him as a Christmas present. The duo tied the knot in 2005 but their relationship was jeopardized when he was alleged to have committed infidelity with multiple women.
Around the same time, she won her first Oscar for The Blind Side meanwhile adopting Louis was a big step in her life. But all these positive moments were overshadowed by James’s infidelity allegations, thus turning her private life into a public scandal.
Since her divorce from James, she adopted a daughter, Laila in 2015. As for her love life, it is going great as she has been in a long-term relationship with the photographer Bryan Randall.
