Samuel L. Jackson has been reigning in Hollywood thanks to his impeccable acting career spanning over 40 years. He has continued to dominate our hearts with his Nick Fury role which he reprised once again in Marvel’s miniseries, Secret Invasion.
However, this is not the only character that he is renowned for internationally as his portrayal of Mace Windu is still iconic in the Star Wars franchise. Though, his Jedi character is yet to hold his lightsaber after his apparent death on-screen. Given that he is quite interested in returning to the role, he once took a dig at Disney believing that the franchise could have been a huge profit with him after iconic actor, Harrison Ford took his spot.

When Jackson joined the popular franchise, it drastically increased his earnings which ultimately surpassed the Han Solo actor’s paychecks. In 2005, he ultimately took his spot as the highest-grossing actor of all time.
But, back in 2016, the latter dethroned the former reclaiming his position. It all happened after he reprised his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens which grossed $2.07 billion worldwide. In an interview on The Graham Norton Show, Jackson commented on Ford’s taking his spot stating,
“I’ve displaced him. He displaced me. But, hey, it’s only 70 mil[million].”
He continued,
“He’s lucky I’m not in Captain America 3 now!”
Ultimately, it was a playful remark that ended the overall conversation in a light manner. Soon after that, the conversation shifted towards his Jedi universe which is when he took a dig at the studio.
Star Wars Franchise Could Have Racked Huge Profits With Samuel L. Jackson!
The show host further asked him if he watched the new film, referring to Episode VII in Star Wars saga to which he gave a firm ‘Yes.’ When the host stated that it could have been better if the Django Unchained actor would have been in the movie, he couldn’t agree more stating it could have gotten “more popular anyway.”
Bursting into laughter, the host commented, “It couldn’t be more popular” to which he quickly responded, “Yes, it could.”
He had not lost hope to see himself in the franchise as he once shared with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast stating that he would be ready to hold the purple light-saber by his left hand since he lost his right in the saga before his apparent death. He admitted approaching The Mandalorian director, Bryce Dallas Howard regarding his return as Jedi.
“The only person I’ve ever said that to about coming back was Bryce Dallas Howard,” he said, “I just did a movie with her, and she directs episodes of The Mandalorian. So, I go, ‘So, you think you might be able to hook a brother up? I mean, you like me, right?’ And she’s like ‘I love you, you’re amazing.’ So put me back in, I’m ready. Put me in, coach. I’ll learn lightsaber left-handed.”
