Ryan Gosling Lost Oscar Opportunity Because of His Obsession With 85-Year-Old Hollywood Legend: “I don’t feel like I did a very good job"

Ryan Gosling has proved time and time again just how great of an actor he really is. No number of accolades would be able to justify his skill and talent. Ryan Gosling Was Not Giving His Best Performance Because Of Anthony Hopkins

Ryan Gosling is one of the youngest actors to ever be nominated for an Oscar. Unfortunately, he has never won one. Although he has been nominated twice, both times for Best Actor, he has never won the award. One particular movie where he thinks he could have gotten an award but did not just so happened to be alongside Anthony HopkinsFracture was a movie they both did together and Gosling was more than happy because of it.

“I don’t feel like I did a very good job, because I was so busy watching Anthony,” he added.“I’d have to remind myself, ‘You have a character to play. Stop watching him.’ I was trying to take apart how Anthony does it, trying to dismantle his talent and understand it. And I never could.”

Usually, he would give a role his everything, observing the ups and downs of his character and how to make that role exceptionally iconic. However, he could not do the same while he was working with Hopkins. At that time he was too busy observing the actor and trying to understand how he works rather than focusing on his own acting. His being so mesmerized by Hopkins affected the quality of his performance, costing him nominations and awards.
