With the MCU picking up pace with its first phase five entry, Kevin Feige has left fans excited after announcing a new Spider-Man movie. And following the confirmation of a new Spider-Man movie, a substantial portion of the fandom has been asking for the return of the Russo brothers in the MCU.
Considering the plethora of underwhelming releases from Marvel since Avengers: Endgame and the recent mishap of Sony with Morbius, fans are worried about the upcoming entry of the most beloved Marvel hero. And as a result, fans are urging MCU to hire the Russo brothers for the upcoming project.
Fans want the Russo brothers to direct Spider-Man 4
It isn’t surprising why fans would want the Russo brothers back for the new Spider-Man installment, as they were the first people to introduce Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the MCU despite Sony’s hesitancy with the actor. And fans believe that to match the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel will need to get back Joe and Anthony Russo at the forefront to elevate the quality of the upcoming Spider-Man 4 to surpass its predecessors.
Even though fans are expressing their want to get the directors attached to the upcoming Spider-Man movie, the duo has been pretty hesitant in the past about returning to MCU.
The Russo brothers aren’t looking forward to their MCU return anytime soon
After perfectly concluding the infinity saga with the highest-grossing MCU movie, Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo departed from the realms of MCU. Even though the directors were responsible for some of the best MCU entries to date, it’s understandable why the duo decided to distance themselves from the ever-expanding MCU after serving it for a substantial period.
Although the directors aren’t looking forward to making their return in the billion-dollar franchise anytime soon, the Russo brothers didn’t brush off the idea of them returning in the future. And with the upcoming Spider-Man movie still in its very early period of development, fans will hope that by the time the project picks up pace, the Russo brother can mark their return to the MCU with this movie.
The Marvel Boss, Kevin Feige has clarified that the sequel to the Spider-Man: No Way Home is still in its very early phase, with writers still working on the script. And although it doesn’t appears that the project will hit the big screens anytime soon, fans will wish that the Russo brothers get attached to the project in the foreseeable future.
