MachineGames, the developers behind the acclaimed Wolfenstein franchise as well as the upcoming Indiana Jones game, is said to be working on another unannounced title that is a part of neither franchise. News of this development comes from Twitter user Timur222, who has often caught onto interesting developments about upcoming games from job listings. On June 15th, they sent out a tweet saying that they have “been told” about this new project and that it is not Indiana Jones.
Not much later, they further clarified this by mentioning that not only is this new game not related to the previously announced Indiana Jones title, but that it is also not Wolfenstein III. It is unknown whether this game would be a brand-new IP, another licensed franchise, or something else entirely.
Timur222 stated in other tweets that the information comes from an employee who left MachineGames in 2021, so they do not know how far along in development the game is currently or how long it may be until we see it. They also stated that it is entirely possible that this unannounced game may even have been shelved before this developer joined the studio. As such, when or if we hear more about this game may remain up in the air for quite some time.
MachineGames Has a Lot on Its Plate
It is unclear at this time what genre this new game will fall under as details are incredibly sparse. MachineGames is also owned by Zenimax Media, which is in turn owned by Microsoft. It is unknown at this time what platforms this unannounced game is being developed for, or even if it will release by the end of this console generation. MachineGames has a lot of irons in the fire already between Indiana Jones and the Wolfenstein series.
Earlier this month rumors began swirling that development will begin on Wolfenstein 3 after MachineGames finishes work on its hotly anticipated Indiana Jones title, rumored to be an Xbox exclusive as a result of Microsoft’s buyout of Bethesda. Should these rumors turn out to be true, they could be a large boon for Xbox fans often clamoring for more exclusives, especially after Redfall failed to impress players and critics alike.

It is worth noting that Timur222 has not quite joined the ranks as a highly decorated leaker, but they have broken some other interesting bits of news fairly recently, including scoops regarding the budget for the long-delayed pirate sim Skull and Bones as well as information about Warner Brothers’ reaction to the sales numbers for Hogwarts Legacy. However, as with all rumors, this should all be taken with a grain of salt until official confirmation is given one way or another.
