Ahsoka is the newest entry in the Star Wars franchise with Rosario Dawson headlining it which takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). The protagonist, Ahsoka Tano has already unveiled her potential in The Mandalorian where she faced off against Morgan Elsbeth. However, the new show is bringing much more action which was excruciatingly painful to pull off.
The double lightsaber-wielder star had to go through intense training to prepare for her show since the series has featured an insane amount of action sequences one would have anticipated.
Rosario Dawson Went Through Insane Training to Prepare for Ahsoka
The ongoing Disney+ series, Ahsoka is an action-packed treat for Star Wars fans which Rosario Dawson herself confirmed. On the occasion of the Star Wars Celebration, she revealed her action-packed schedule where she had to train for two hours regularly to get into Ahsoka Tano mode.
“I have to say it was really interesting, because, you know, we were doing two hours of training a day, seven days a week.”
She had to train even when she was filming episodes,
“And then, you know, we start filming, and I’m having to do training while we’re filming. And it was kind of insane to kind of have to forget a fight, a battle that you were so engrossed in, just to kind of pivot to the next one.”
Getting the right fighting sequence is something she can’t do wrong otherwise it would only be bothering her. She shared,
“And you wanted to make sure you pivoted because if you thought you were supposed to be blocking when you’re striking because the last fight had the strike and the block, that’s your face, right? So you really got to get with the program. It kept you very present and it was very real.”
Creator Dave Filoni accepted that he wrote “a lot of battles” for the show which is absolutely something that ended up increasing Dawson’s workload. Given the pay she received for her titular role, her efforts are obviously on the upper hand.
Rosario Dawson Received Measly Salary for Her Intense Efforts
Meanwhile, the 8-episode series, Ahsoka is now streaming on Disney+ with the show set to conclude this October 3.
