The Grand Theft Auto series, also known as GTA, is one of the most popular video game series of all time. Though we haven’t seen a new release in ten whole years, fans still eagerly look forward to every sliver of news as and when it becomes available, whether it be official, a leak, or a rumor. Developer Rockstar has kept many players busy with updates to GTA Online and even released an updated version of GTA 5 to current-gen consoles.
What fans await most, though, is word of GTA 6, the next game in the storied franchise. There have been several leaks and rumors over the years, with many different claims being made. These include new gameplay features and an alleged budget, amongst other things.
GTA 6 might have an aging system
Similar to Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), Rockstar’s last major release, GTA 6 might have a detailed aging mechanic in addition to having a hair and facial hair growth system. This is as per a claim made by famous GTA 6 leaker @RockstarGTAVI.
In RDR2, the player had to make regular trips to a barber to get protagonist Arthur Morgan’s hair trimmed or cut. Given that GTA 6 will be the next major release since RDR2, it is highly likely that this feature will make its way across. After all, it was one of the numerous minute details that made fans fall in love with RDR2, and GTA 6 should be no different in that regard.

GTA 6’s $1 Billion budget – what have they allegedly spent it on?
There have been multiple claims over the budget of GTA 6, with some saying it is a billion dollars and others putting it at twice that amount at two billion. This is in stark contrast to the estimated $265 million for GTA 5’s single-player mode. It’s worth remembering that the costs incurred for the still active multiplayer segment of the game makes the figure higher, albeit still unlikely to be close to $1 billion.

As for what much of this money is being spent on, rumors indicate that it ranges from new technology to marketing. Rockstar, according to some leaks, is working on new technology and features to give players a new, enhanced experience. This potentially includes graphics, the game engine, and realistic game physics. Another point of interest is the facial scanning and recognition technology, with rumors indicating that Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) would scan player faces to permit them to buy and then play GTA 6. This, though, is unlikely to be applied, at least as the rumors suggest.
Apart from this, the marketing costs for GTA 6 are also believed to be quite high. Lastly, some rumors also suggest that the developer has hired popular artists to bring their respective content into the game in some form. For example, music artists will bring their audio content in the form of the soundtrack or tracks played on the in-game radio.
