Everyone knows how chaotic the original Avengers cast can be whenever they get together. In an old interview with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo, they made fun of the Captain America actor’s love life.
Among the cast, Evans is the only one without kids yet. The Gray Man star absolutely wants to settle down someday, and that includes having his own family. Back in the days when the actor still worked on Avengers films, his Marvel co-stars used to tease him a lot.
Jeremy Renner Replies With Dark Humor After Chris Evans Said He Doesn’t Have Kids
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live back in 2015, Knives Out actor Chris Evans responded to the question about the whole team going out for fun:
“Well, you never know, you got to kind of test the waters. Sometimes people have responsibilities, everyone has kids…”
Robert Downey Jr interjected, “Everyone except?” and Evans pointed to himself. Meanwhile, Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson was seen tapping on her hand, a gesture that insinuates time is ticking and Evans needs to hurry. Jeremy Renner, on the other hand, was contemplating if he should say his thoughts out loud. In the end, he blurted out, “That he knows of.”
The entire cast was stunned by Renner’s remark. According to one comment, the phrase implies that Evans sleeps with a lot of women. The Ghosted star just laughed it off and said, “Glad we got that in.”
Now, older and wiser, Evans seems to prioritize his personal and home life. He told People that he has become picky with the projects he chooses to participate in:
“When it comes to seeking out the people I play it’s more of an issue of where the movie shoots. I’m too old to be living out of a suitcase for six months and I’ve settled into a nicer phase where I’m just happy being at home.”
He revealed that he has plans on building his own family someday, and that means he wants to get married and have children:
“That’s absolutely something I want. Wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
This was what he learned in his 42 years of existence. The actor loves the idea of tradition and ceremony and admits that he is much better as a romantic partner now, as compared to when he was younger.
Chris Evans Has “Gotten Serious” And Is Finally Settling Down With His Fiancée
Chris Evans reportedly got engaged to his girlfriend, Alba Baptista, and is now planning to get married in Boston this fall. A source told US Weekly:
“Chris and Alba have gotten serious. This is the most committed anyone can remember him being in a very long time, if not ever. They spend most of their time at his place in Massachusetts and love the quiet life there, surrounded by nature and away from the spotlight. Chris was very open that he wanted to take his time before settling down.”
Evans and Baptista were first linked together in 2021 after fans saw that the Portuguese-Brazilian actress began following Evans and his family members on Instagram. In November 2022, they were spotted holding hands in Central Park.
