The academy award and Primetime Emmy award-winning actress, Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon has had a prolific impact in Hollywood doing movies such as Legally Blonde and Walk the line in her successful career, she was also reported to be one of the top-paid actresses in 2021 by Forbes magazine. Witherspoon has had a vibrant dating history with some famous actors and has been married twice in her career. As of 24th March 2023, She and her husband Jim Toth have decided to part ways with each other after a 12-year-long marriage.
Reese Witherspoon’s Dating History (1999-2023)
Back in 1992, Reese Witherspoon and Jeremy Sisto had been in a romantic connection, after the HBO’s 6 feet under actor had mentioned in a Reddit AMA thread in 2015. “[Witherspoon] was my first actress girlfriend,” Sisto said. “We had a long-distance relationship for a long time.” However, things did not work out between the two of them due to the long distance and they eventually moved on from each other in 1993.
Witherspoon at the age of 16, had accompanied Chris O’Donnell Scent of a Woman co-actor, to a party back in 1993, there was a buzz around the time about the two dating but never came to light as they decided to keep it under wraps.

In 1999, Reese Witherspoon threw her 21st birthday party in which she met her soon-to-be-husband, Ryan Phillippe. Witherspoon was 7 months pregnant at the time of their marriage in 1999 carrying their first child, Ava. The two of them eventually had another baby boy in 2003 named Deacon, sadly enough Witherspoon and Phillippe would divorce after what was deemed to be toxic by the end of it.
“[The divorce was] the darkest, saddest place I’ve ever been.” “There were a good four or five months of not being able to get out of bed,” he said. “It was the worst time of my life.”
The two have decided to co-parent their children. They have recently been seen at Deacon’s graduation in June 2022.
On the sets of Rendition in 2007 Reese Witherspoon and co-star Jake Gyllenhaal had a chemistry that went on off-screen as well. They were together until 2007, and it is speculated that Gyllenhaal was very into her and was ready to tie the knot, but Witherspoon had to recoup from her past marriage that went awry.

In 2011, Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth decided to become husband and wife after a year-long relationship. Witherspoon shared her delight with Marie Claire, as she said
“Now I feel a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband.… Somebody close to me once said, ‘Oh, no man will ever accept your children.’ And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life. I was determined to find somebody who would make that not true. And I got lucky. I did. I got very lucky, and he’s wonderful. And so wonderful with the children. I’m very blessed.”
A year into the marriage, the couple shared the news of expecting a baby with the public in 2012, and on 27th September 2012 their baby boy Tennessee was born. The couple had a few hiccups with the cops in 2013 for which they didn’t create much of a ruckus. All in all, it seemed like a happy marriage until March 2023, when they decided to split. Toth and Witherspoon haven’t disclosed any controversy or official divorce tied to the split, but they have shared that it is a mutual decision and hinted that they grew out of the romance where things became platonic.
