Reason Behind Avengers: Endgame's $2.79 Billion Success Asks Marvel to Learn From DCU After Ezra Miller's 'The Flash' Pays Touching Homage to Its Creator

Marvel Studios has undeniably revolutionized the entertainment industry with its incredible cinematic universe, captivating audiences worldwide. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has achieved unprecedented success, delivering blockbuster movies that have shattered box office records. However, as the MCU continues to soar, it is essential to address a longstanding concern – the lack of due credit given to the comic creators who laid the foundation for these iconic characters and stories.

What Marvel Can Learn From DC?

Comic creators play a vital role in shaping the Marvel Universe, crafting intricate narratives, and designing visually striking characters. These visionary artists and writers invest countless hours, talent, and creativity into their work. It is only fair that their contributions are acknowledged and celebrated as the foundation upon which the MCU is built.

Jim Starlin, the comics creator behind Thanos expressed his view on how Marvel can take lessons from DC regarding giving due credit to its comic character creators.

On his personal Instagram account, Starlin said that he was happy to see how DC’s The Flash is honoring its creators. He stated, “pleased to see the creators of the Flash acknowledged early in the end credits.”

Also, Starlin, the American comics artist wrote how he wishes for the same treatment from MCu as well. “wish[es] the Marvel movies would do the same,” said Starlin.

“Was really surprised by how much I liked the new Flash movie! One terrific flick. I was especially pleased to see the creators of the Flash acknowledged early in the end credits instead of the way after the caterers and so many others. Wish the Marvel movies would do the same.”

By not acknowledging and properly crediting the original creators, a disservice is done to the very individuals who laid the foundation for Marvel’s success. This lack of recognition can discourage aspiring writers and artists and erode trust within the industry.

The creators of DC’s renowned characters have consistently been given credit and honored.

In DC Movies, creator credits are prominently displayed, ensuring that the audience knows and appreciates the individuals who brought these characters to life in the comics. From the opening credits to the film’s promotional materials, DC Movies consistently acknowledges the writers, artists, and editors who have played a pivotal role in shaping the DC Universe.

The Flash, which stars Ezra Miller, pays homage to Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Batman. On June 23, 1989, Warner Bros. released Batman. For those who were alive then, it shook the world.

A new logo for The Flash was introduced by Warner Bros. Discovery. The Flash‘s logo has also been altered to a gold and black design. The black unquestionably depicts Batman.
