Quentin Tarantino, Known for His Fiendish Feet Fetish, Won’t Ever Allow Nude Scenes in His Movies: “S-x is not part of my vision”

Quentin Tarantino has built a reputation for himself over the years. It all began in 1992 with the release of Reservoir Dogs. And it has been all about going from strength to strength since then. He has won great acclaim for his unique form of storytelling and for the violence that is characteristic of his oeuvre. Yet that is not the only iconic thing about his movies. Quentin Tarantino’s foot fetish remains a constant in his vision for the movies. But that is where the kinky elements of his movies end.

The ‘Tarantino’ vision

Quentin Tarantino has a novel way of storytelling. The Inglourious Basterds director has a vision for each story. And there is nothing more important for him than seeing his vision through for the project.

He said,

“A good majority of movies that come out you pretty much know everything you’re going to see in the movie by the first ten or twenty minutes. Now that’s not a story. A story is something that constantly unfolds.” 

That is where the difference lies between an average filmmaker and The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director.

Why do Quentin Tarantino movies have no s*x?

Quentin Tarantino further elaborated on his vision, saying,

“I’m not talking about a quick left turn, or a quick right turn, or a big surprise— I’m talking about it unfolds… There is the 25% (of movies) out there that can be more resonant by telling it this way. Both Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction gain a lot more resonance being told in this wild way.”

There is another thing about the Tarantino vision. S-x ain’t a part of it. The Django Unchained director said, “S*x is not part of my vision of cinema.” That explains why over the course of all those years, only one of his movies had a love-making scene.

Quentin Tarantino shares his reservations about shooting s*x scenes

The 60-year-old auteur continued,

“And the truth is that, in real life, it’s a pain to shoot s*x scenes, everyone is very tense. And if it was already a bit problematic to do it before, now it is even more so. If there had ever been a s*x scene that was essential to the story, I would have, but so far it hasn’t been necessary.”

The Hateful Eight director has stuck to these words no matter what came his way. It is this clarity that we all love at some level, don’t we?
