Brolin is a very versatile actor, capable of playing very critical roles without sweating much, and with the backing of the studio, he was able to cast the Oldboy actor over Emanuel’s preference of casting Mark Wahlberg. Although this decision would make some powerful individuals mad, the success the movie brought was overwhelming. The movie earned a whopping $654 million worldwide with the franchise earning over $1.9 billion at the box office with a total budget of $555 million.
