About two months ago, it was reported that Keanu Reeves would be starring in The Devil in the White City alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The Hulu original first went into production in 2019 and Reeves was recently cast as Burnham in the project. The Devil in the White City is a Hulu adaptation of Eric Larson’s book of the same name. It was put into development in 2019 with plans to release it in August 2022, after Leonardo DiCaprio acquired the rights for the book in 2010 and Martin Scorsese joined the project as the director in 2015.
The Devil in the White City reportedly tells the true story of Daniel H. Burnham, who wishes to leave a mark on history with the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. It also follows America’s first modern serial killer, Dr. H. H. Holmes. The production house has yet not announced a release date, but it is expected to release in the spring of 2023.
Keanu Reeves May Have Left The Devil in the White City for His MCU Role
Keanu Reeves has been fan cast in several Marvel roles. However, one of the most anticipated roles for the Constantine star is Ghost Rider. And with the MCU moving ahead with more new characters in its phase 5 and phase 6, fans are expecting to see Reeves as Ghost Rider in the future.
Now that Keanu Reeves has left the Hulu original, Marvel fans have started assuming that the actor has left the project because he would be preparing for Ghost Rider. Fans have started discussing that there has to be a good reason why he left the Hulu original.
While many are hoping that he dropped the Hulu original for Ghost Rider or some other big role, many are convinced that he ditched Scorsese to make some real cinema. Well, fans are sure that there should be a good reason behind his decision.
Fans have been expecting to see Keanu Reeves as Ghost Rider for a long time, but they are not the only ones who expect the same. Reeves himself has revealed that it was his dream to play Ghost Rider.

Keanu Reeves Has Always Wanted to Play Ghost Rider
In his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Keanu Reeves talked about how his interest in superheroes grew with time. He also talked about him growing into liking serious superheroes more. He said, “Then I got introduced to Frank Miller. So, then it was like Wolverine and Akira.”
Further, when asked which characters Marvel offered him, The Matrix star said it’s really cool the way Marvel films have developed into what they are. He also said, “It would be great to be a part of that.”
The host then asked him which role ten-year-old Keanu Reeves would want to play. Answering the question, the actor said he would probably want to be Ghost Rider.
“Ten-year-old Reeves would want to… I think he’d probably want to be Ghost Rider,” Kianu Reeves said.
Keanu Reeves’s New Comic Book
Keanu Reeves also talked about his new comic book BRZRKR. BRZRKR is written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt and drawn by Ron Garney. It follows Berzerker, an immortal warrior. It was first on March 3, 2021. BRZRKR volume 2 was released in September 2022, and Volume 3 will release in 2023.
In March 2021, Netflix also announced a live-action adaptation of the comic book series with Reeves in the lead. Netflix also announced a follow-up anime series based on the comics.
For now, Marvel Studios has not confirmed that Keanu Reeves would be playing Ghost Rider in the future. However, fans are sure no actor is more suitable for the role than Keanu Reeves.
Reeves is set to star in John Wick: Chapter 4 and is also expected to star in the Constantine sequel. John Wick: Chapter 4 will release on 24 March 2023.
