Through her talent, beauty, and incredible charisma, Salma Hayek is ruling over the entertainment industry. She has worked across multiple genres including drama, comedy, and action. Apart from her unending talent, though, Salma Hayek is also known simply for just how gorgeous she is. Whether it is off-screen or on-screen, the actress’ beauty knows no bounds.
One might think that Salma Hayek has never had anything to be insecure about in her life. I mean, have you seen her? However, that is far from the truth. Growing up, the actress had one huge insecurity – being a late bloomer. All the girls in her class were developing br**sts, but she took her sweet time. This led to poor young Salma Hayek getting teased by her peers.
Salma Hayek Asked Jesus for Help
The Graham Norton Show invited Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, and comedian Jimmy Carr to sit on the iconic red couch for an episode. The guests opened up about the insecurities they had growing up and when it was Hayek’s turn, the actress remembered details from her childhood as if it happened yesterday.
She started off by recalling how she was the youngest in her class and felt insecure when the rest of the girls began developing br**sts.
“I was the youngest in my class and all the girls started getting them and I was not getting anything and I was really scared.”
Instead of waiting for her turn, Hayek decided to take matters into her own hands, spiritually. She recalled a trip down to a church with a miracle-performing saint and how she ditched her family to beg Jesus to give her br**sts.
“We went on a road trip with my parents and we went to this church that had a saint that was supposed to do a lot of miracles. I was getting teased a lot because everybody was like older and I was like the skinny tomboy. So, when we went back to the car I said, ‘Oh I forgot something.’ I went back in the church, put my hands in the holy water and went, (places her hands on her chest), ‘Please Jesus give me some b**bs!’”
Carr was quick to make a witty remark as he stated, “You know what the weird thing about that is that was my prayer, too!” Of course, Hayek has nothing to feel insecure about anymore as she is easily one of the most stunning women to have graced the entertainment industry.
Salma Hayek Has Different Worries Now
First Hayek was worried that she was not going to develop br**sts like the girls around her and now she is worried they won’t stop growing. During her appearance on Red Table Talk the Grown Ups actress first clarified that all her growth has been natural. She stated, “A lot of people said that I had breast augmentation. I don’t blame them! My b**bs were smaller! So was the rest of my body.”
She then went on to state that while br**sts get smaller with time for many women, she did not belong to this category. In her case, they just keep growing owing to pregnancy, menopause, or simply when she gains weight.
“For some women, they get smaller. But there are some women that when you gain weight, your b**bs grow, and other women that when you have children and you br**stfeed your b**bs grow and they don’t go back down, and then in some of the cases when you are in menopause, they grow again. I just happen to be one of those women that it happened to in every single step! When I gain weight, when I got pregnant, and when I am in menopause.”salma h
Hayek also addressed the back pain that comes along with the territory stating, “Many, many sizes. And my back has been suffering from it. And not a lot of people talk about this… I’ll tell you what they don’t tell you. The b**bs grow — a lot.”
Well, it sure is nice that Hayek does not shy away from talking about this. After all, there might be many young girls and grown-up women who can relate to the actress and find confidence in themselves!
