Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing was the Friends character that everyone could enjoy watching on screen- he was funny, wanted to make everyone laugh, and was also a bit insecure, to be honest. The last trait seems to have come out and developed into Perry’s real-life personality based on recent comments.
The Fools Rush In star, who just last year came together with the old Friends cast in Friends: The Reunion, is set to release a memoir about the time when the popular TV show was being filmed and various other things. The memoir is named Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, and it contains one very hot take that might paint Perry in a bad light.
Matthew Perry Takes A Dig At Keanu Reeves
Matthew Perry, the actor who had been suffering from addiction to alcohol and drugs gave an unexpected take on John Wick star Keanu Reeves in his new memoir.
In Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry expresses the love he has for the late actor River Phoenix, brother of Joker star Joaquin Phoenix. Phoenix had died of an overdose in 1993, at just 23 years of age.

The 53-year-old actor worked with Phoenix in the drama-romance movie A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon back in 1998, acting as a co-star. He reminisces about how great a person his co-star was, with whom he grew close while filming the movie-
“River was a beautiful man inside and out and too beautiful for this world, it turned out. It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down.”
Further in the memoir, Perry takes a 180 turn in emotions and seems to be questioning Keanu Reeves’ capability as an actor in the most ill-mannered way you can think of-
It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down. Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us? River was a better actor than me; I was funnier. But I certainly held my own in our scenes — no small feat, when I look back decades later.”
In another instance, Perry talks about his initial reaction to finding out about the death of comedian Chris Farley, and mentions Reeves once again-
“I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out. Keanu Reeves walks among us.
This has come out of nowhere from the Almost Heroes actor, it’s only a matter of time until Reeves responds, which we hope won’t escalate the situation any further.
Keanu Reeves Fans Perplexed By Matthew Perry’s Comments
The dig at Keanu Reeves from Matthew Perry was unexpected considering that the former has been a figure of wholesomeness on the internet for a whole decade.
It even comes as a bigger surprise considering that the two have never appeared in any projects together as co-stars.
Fans of the Constantine star were understandably disappointed at Perry’s comments. With a reputation of being one of the nicest fanbases around, they weren’t too harsh on the actor either, and instead were confused-
He says it twice-
Everyone would love to be-
Throwback! –
They’re really tasty too-
Here’s to many more years of that-
Would you agree that Matthew Perry went a bit too far with this one? The actor hasn’t been as controversial before. Keanu Reeves really needs to chip in on this one.
