Over the years, many gamers will have heard the phrase gone gold regarding game development, and many have wondered what this means and why it is such a big deal when it comes to certain games that gain this achievement. The reason this is such a big deal is because when a game goes gold, that means that the developer believes that the game is ready to release as it stands, which is the developer’s stamp of approval for their game.

When a game goes gold, it is a confirmation that the game is ready to ship, which will give a lot of gamers hope that this brand-new game will most likely be coming out on the release date that it has been announced to release on. Even though a game can go gold, that doesn’t mean it is a guarantee that the game will release on the set release day, as there can always be an issue that can occur after the announcement has been made, which could delay it, but that is highly unlikely.
