It seems that war is brewing again in the two mega-entertainment fandoms of Marvel and DC. With comparisons of Hugh Jackman and Gal Gadot, several DC fans are claiming that the MCU fans are hypocrites.
With the recent announcement that Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman 3, fans are now blaming James Gunn for a not-so-proper reboot of the DCU. Alongside this, the fans are also drawing parallels between Gadot’s jump from the DCEU to the DCU and Hugh Jackman’s jump from the Foxverse to the MCU.
Fans Are Comparing Hugh Jackman And Gal Gadot
It was recently announced that Gal Gadot will indeed be reprising her role as Diana Prince in the upcoming movie Wonder Woman 3. After Henry Cavill’s controversial removal and Ben Affleck also out of the picture, fans are asking why only Gadot was kept in the DCU.
Several salty Marvel and DC fans also started their age-old battle of which studio is better. Accusing and spreading online hatred for the actress, the DCU fans defended by saying that Hugh Jackman also changed his universe from Foxverse (for the X-Men franchise) to the MCU (with Deadpool 3). Well, this was a pretty interesting conversation to witness.
In her interview, the actor seemingly confirmed that she will indeed be working on a third Wonder Woman movie. Fans were quite heartbroken to hear that director Patty Jenkins might not return to direct the third part.
Gal Gadot’s Announcement For Wonder Woman 3
In an interview with Comicbook.com, the Heart of Stone actress announced that as she understands it, she will be working alongside James Gunn and Peter Safran to create the third installment of the DCU franchise.
“I love portraying Wonder Woman, It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a ‘Wonder Woman 3’ together.”
There hasn’t been a release date given for the upcoming movie but the SAG-AFTRA strike could potentially add further delays in the creation of the Diana Prince story. There has been no mention of director Patty Jenkins as she abruptly left the project after James Gunn didn’t like the script.
