Fans Want to Launch an Online Campaign To See Jake Gyllenhaal As The Next Batman

Ever since Ben Affleck was chosen to play the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, ardent DC fans have often questioned his portrayal of the character believing that he wasn’t a perfect fit for the role. A majority of the fans believed that his portrayal of the character was inaccurate and they compared Affleck to previous actors who had played the role, as well as the DC comics.

Hence, James Gunn took over DC Studios and he decided to reboot the franchise, and force the actor to retire as Batman. Now, the role of Bruce Wayne is vacant and fans have launched an online campaign on Twitter, in an attempt to see the Southpaw actor be the next Batman.

Another fan states that they watched his Prisoners and they are convinced that he will be a great choice for the role.

Another DC fan backed Gyllenhaal that his age would make him perfect in James Gunn’s The Brave and the Bold. 

A fan comments how they never thought of Gyllenhaal as Batman but the idea of him portraying the role is great.

Another fan wants to see Jake Gyllenhaal as Bruce Wayne/ Batman.

While fans have launched an online campaign to see the actor play the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman in James Gunn’s rebooted DCU, Gyllenhaal was quite close to working in Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy.

Jake Gyllenhaal Almost Replaced Christian Bale in The Dark Knight Trilogy

Even though there is no concrete evidence of how far Jake Gyllenhaal has advanced in the casting process of Batman Begins, his rising fame and popularity made him the perfect actor to portray the role, as he was recognizable, but not too much that would affect his credibility as Batman. It was indicated that the Nightcrawler actor was the leading contender for the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, as some sources state that he was one of the final contenders to play the role.

During that time the actor found success in films such as Donnie Darko, The Day After Tomorrow, and Brokeback Mountain, his complex performances in those movies were compelling, which improved his dramatic capabilities. Hence, he would have been a better choice than Bale, but it is unknown how close was he to being cast for the role.
