His career as a wrestler brought about a lot of recognition for WWE, adding to its viewership in a massive manner.
What he earned as a wrestler ranged not only from his net worth but, also in the manner of the respect and love he gained from his audience. The wrestler-turned-actor has developed a relationship with his fans that is adored dearly by both parties involved. However, during the peak of his career, a question was going on in everyone’s head. Why is John Cena everywhere?
John Cena Was Favored By WWE Because Of His Popularity
Paul Michael Levesque went into detail about John Cena and the focus that is put on him while he was a part of WWE. In an interview, Triple H elaborated on how it was imminent for the League to focus on the wrestler no matter what. This was because the fans and viewers all enjoyed seeing him in the ring. They liked to see him perform and they admired his skills to entertain the crowd.
“People will say all the time about Cena like, I read that all the time, ‘don’t we listen?’ People are tired of seeing him, they don’t want to see him win, they don’t want to see this.”
Levesque explained that even though the public was getting bored of seeing him win over and over again, they were still somehow interested in seeing him on screen. His popularity was increasing the publicity and viewership of WWE, bringing in more and more people to enjoy whatever they showed. His popularity was so impactful that nothing could change his fan following even a bit.
Vince McMahon Always Went For John Cena
Triple H went further into why Vince McMahon was so supportive of John Cena and why he continuously pushed for the wrestler-turned-actor. He focused on how Cena as an individual has a lot of fans who will buy anything he would sell.
“There’s such a long period of time where half the people were booing John and half the people were cheering for him, but he was packing arenas, he sold more merchandise, he was more popular than ever. Everything that we did, John was so far ahead.”
He elaborated on how the way he attracted crowds was not something that could be compared with. He claimed that the vision that Cena provided was more approachable than what any other wrestler could ever provide.
