Hollywood actors often make headlines for their offscreen feud with their co-stars, however, the speculations rarely turn out to be true. But if you ask about Channing Tatum and his rumored beef with his Magic Mike co-star, Alex Pettyfer, then unfortunately you will stumble upon some real-life drama.
Evidently, the feud between the infamous Hollywood stars, Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer turned out to be true, when the latter confirmed it during a podcast. Stating how their professional relationship turned sour along with their friendship, Pettyfer confessed he was to be blamed for most of it.
Alex Pettyfer Confirmed His Feud With Channing Tatum
While Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer’s movie Magic Mike might have catapulted their career and earned them several fans, the co-stars certainly aren’t a fan of each other. Although the duo appeared in the $167M movie and turned into overnight superstars, Tatum and Pettyfer seem to detest each other.
Although it was rumored that Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer were having an offscreen feud, it was later confirmed by Pettyfer that the alleged beef was actually true. Appearing on the Bret Easton Ellis podcast B.E.E. the 33-year-old discussed in detail about their ongoing disagreements.
“Channing Tatum does not like me — and for many reasons [and] many being my own fault.” Alex Pettyfer shared.
According to the 33-year-old British actor, his and Tatum’s relationship turned sour right after they were cast in Steven Soderbergh’s 2012 stripper dramedy Magic Mike. Apparently, the 43-year-old actor considered Pettyfer a great risk for the film, due to his 2011 bad boy reputation.
Channing Tatum Had His Reasons To Detest His Co-star
Opening up in detail about the reasons behind their feud, Alex Pettyfer mentioned how he is majorly to be blamed for their beef. Recalling the time when he used to stay shut on the set while filming the 2012 movie Alex Pettyfer mentioned, “I was scared to speak…I was very insecure, and that also gave me a bad rep because they said, ‘Oh Alex thinks he’s f—— better than everyone else because he doesn’t speak to anyone,’ and that’s not true”
Further, recalling the time when he and Riley Keough rented a New York apartment from Channing Tatum’s friend, Pettyfer mentioned that it was the last nail in the coffin. Getting into detail, the actor stated how he left within four months, complaining about having an allergic reaction to dust and mold. His inconsiderate gesture ruined things between him and Tatum until Alex Pettyfer crossed all limits as he forgot to pay the due rent following the disturbance after his cousin’s death.
Confessing how “devastated” he was, the 33-year-old admitted “dealing with family drama and forgot about the situation which was the apartment.” This forgetfulness led Channing Tatum to take serious steps, where he sent a threatening email to Pettyfer. “And I all the sudden got a very negative email from Channing, rightfully so, saying ‘Don’t f— my friends. You owe money. Pay the f—— money. Don’t be a clown.’” Pettyfer recalled.
Unfortunately, the 33-year-old British actor took the mail in a negative way, especially after his cousin’s death, which further aggravated the feud between him and Tatum.
