After Tom Holland’s last appearance as Spider-Man in No Way Home, fans have been waiting for the studio to confirm Spider-Man 4. There have also been multiple rumors regarding the development and the plot of the next film in the MCU’s Spider-Man series. Rumors also started about the Civil War actor signing a new agreement for six new movies with Marvel Studios. However, everything still remains an assumption, as the studio did not officially confirm anything.

But in his recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Feige has finally confirmed that Marvel Studios is working on a story for the next Spider-Man film.

Marvel Studios is Working on Spider-Man 4

Rumors regarding Tom Holland’s return in Spider-Man 4 has been going around since the release of the 2021 film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film went on to be one of the highest-grossing films of Marvel Studios. Considering its success at the box office, fans were sure that they would soon see the Uncharted star back as Spider-Man in the MCU.

And the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, confirmed the fourth film during his recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. When asked about any updates regarding Peter Parker’s future appearances in the MCU, Feige said that the studio has a story that they are working on for Spider-Man 4.

“All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.”

Followed by the events of No Way Home, many expected that the Cherry star might not come back as the web-slinger in the MCU. However, Feige’s statement also seems to confirm that fans can expect to see Holland back as the friendly neighborhood superhero, in the next film.

Earlier, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal also said that No Way Home would not be the last Spider-Man movie with Marvel and Tom Holland. She also added that after No Way Home, they are planning to make three more films with The Devil All the Time star.

Spider-Man 4 May Not Focus on the Multiverse

During her interview with Fandango, Any Pascal claimed that Tom Holland would continue as the web-slinger in Spider-Man 4. She also claimed that Marvel and Sony would continue to partner on future Spider-Man films. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel,” Pascal said.

She also shared that Sony is not planning to focus solely on the multiverse or the Spider-Verse for every single movie. The last film in the MCU’s Spider-Man film revolved around Tom Holland’s Peter Parker facing multiple villains from the multiverse.

While the film could have some multiversal elements to it, Spider-Man 4 would focus mostly on Peter Parker being the new friendly neighborhood superhero, Spider-Man. The studio has not revealed any information regarding the official release date of Spider-Man 4.
