It Seems Matthew McConaughey Wants To Join The DCU!

With the oncoming Phase 5 of the MCU, fans were reminded that Matthew McConaughey once had a chance to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor rejected to star in the billion-dollar franchise by James Gunn famously known as Guardians of the Galaxy.

After refusing to star in the James Gunn franchise, the actor seems to want to join James Gunn once more in the DCU in viral fan art. In a tweet, Matthew McConaughey was fan cast in the role of Reverse Flash, the antagonist to Flash. In viral fan art, the fan art seems to highlight McConaughey in the antagonist role.

The actor also remarked about how he refused to star in Guardians of the Galaxy franchise but he did appreciate how well the movie worked out in the end. In an interview, the actor even defended his 2017 movie The Dark Tower which was a massive failure for McConaughey.

In his interview, the actor recalled that he refused the offer of starring in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Stating that he had found the 2017 movie’s script more attractive, McConaughey went ahead to join The Dark Tower which was a massive failure for the actor.

“I like Guardians of the Galaxy, but what I saw was ‘It’s successful, and now we’ve got room to make a colorful part for another big-name actor’. I’d feel like an amendment. The Dark Tower script was well written, I like the director and his take on it, and I can be the creator, the author of the Man in Black—a.k.a. the Devil—in my version of this Stephen King novel.”

With failures to handle and Matthew McConaughey allegedly joining the DCU, The Dark Tower is available to stream on fuboTV in the U.S.
