Two of the most famous franchises are Sky Kids and Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Zachary Levi will be gearing up for a reboot of the former franchise. The lead characters of the original franchise were played by Daryl Sabara and Alexa PenaVega, with Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino playing their parents. Now that the series is getting a reboot, Levi will be taking on the mantle of continuing the legacy that it created.
Incidentally enough, PenaVega was shocked to learn that her children had a much different opinion about Spy Kids as compared to Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Her hopes were crushed drastically when she learned that they were not as fond of the franchise as she was, having a bigger interest in Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dooley’s project.

Alexa PenaVega’s Children Hate The Franchise That Is Now Being Rebooted By Zachary Levi
Despite being known to play Carmen Cortez in Spy Kids, Alexa PenaVega’s kids are not able to understand the value of her character and the franchise. They instead fawn over Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dooley’s Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Both franchises had their own massive expansion as they were loved by adults and children alike. However, many often confuse PenaVega for being Lavagirl, including her children.
“Everybody thinks I was Lavagirl. I was not Lavagirl, but my kids only watch Sharkboy and Lavagirl.”
No matter how much she tries to make them watch the Spy Kids franchise, they always lean more toward Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Now that Zachary Levi will be rebooting the franchise, things could perhaps change. However, that would still not put PenaVega in the spotlight of her children. She even told Dooley about how her children were more fond of the actress than their own mother. Although, she has not yet lost hope about at least someone in her family picking Spy Kids over the other franchise.

Alexa PenaVega Hopes That Her Co-Stars Children Will Like Spy Kids
Even though Alexa PenaVega’s children like Taylor Dooley’s character more than her own, she has not lost hope just yet. Her co-star Daryl Sobara welcomed his first child with Meghan Trainor back in 2021 and all she hopes for is that Sobara’s child can have the enthusiasm for Spy Kids that her own children lack.
“We saw my brother today, Daryl,” she added. “We were with him, and now he has a baby. So maybe his baby will like Spy Kids.”
Not only that but Trainor and Sobara welcomed their second child recently; adding even more hope to PenaVega. Her only goal is to make her children understand just how important the franchise was to her and that they learn to love it the way she does.
