Towards the end of Phase Four of the MCU, the franchise was receiving some very good films which were performing excellently at the box office, but the script for a successful movie changed completely when Marvel Studios released Black Panther. Led by the Late Chadwick Boseman, the film became a worldwide sensation within its opening weekend, and soon enough, made a whopping $1.34 Billion at the box office, something that other films of the franchise took a pretty while to achieve. In a past interview, the Gods Of Egypt star talked about what it was like to be part of such a huge pop culture phenomenon after playing the Prince of Wakanada in the film as he was prepping for his then-upcoming film. To this question, he simply replied with what he believed, saying that although he was honored to be part of such a successful film, it was more than the recognition which mattered to him and that the nomination that the film received at the Academy Awards meant more than the billion dollars. He said:

“It’s not even the success, it’s just the impact of Panther is more important than the amount of money it made or whatever, even that it was part of an awards campaign, which is not a normal thing for a superhero movie. That is a height. I can’t deny that because I felt it sitting there at the Oscars. I felt okay, this is a thing. Not just because it was a superhero movie, because it was black people in a superhero movie.”

And just like that, the actor left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten by the audience and the fans that witnessed the greatness he brought on screen.

While the MCU was churning out some quality films at the time, what made Black Panther stand out from the rest was the representation of the culture in a way that was both true to origin yet dramatically fitting of a sci-fi superhero flick. Along with that, a gripping story, mixed with stellar performances of the cast and the cinematography, all stuck with the audience even after the end credits rolled, making it a film worth remembering.
