When Scarlett Johansson was on the set of Asteroid City, her son Cosmo was a mere baby. She was on the set with her husband Colin Jost and her then-newborn son. All the attention went from her to her baby. Everyone wanted to interact with her son instead of the actress and would go out of their way to meet up with Cosmo.
“People were excited to see the baby, not me. They’re like, ‘Oh, it’s you. Where’s baby?'”
Johansson was rather shocked to see this and amusingly complained about how they weren’t even fond of seeing her. In instances where her baby would not be present, they would still be looking out for him and keep asking about him. He became the popular one amongst the crowd and was easily a crowd-pleaser. She was there with her entire family, as were many other co-stars. However, her son was the youngest one there and everyone wanted to meet him and get to know him more.
The Meaning Behind Scarlett Johansson’s Son’s Name
Scarlett Johansson has two children, Cosmo and Rose. While her daughter is much older than her son, many found it rather confusing as to what her son’s name meant. The actress did not mind explaining that either. Both of her children are named after flowers and she loves that idea.
“They are both flowers,” Johansson explained. “Not a lot of people make that connection. Cosmo is a really sweet little flower that comes in different shades of orange and yellow.”
While everyone agreed to the name, Colin Jost’s mother wasn’t as keen. It took her a lot of time to convince her mother-in-law about the name and she eventually did settle.
