Although the two movies were completely different, the actor compared them in order to discuss the crippling mistake that Snakes on a Plane was almost ready to do like S.W.A.T. Stating how the 2006 horror flick almost turned itself into PG-13 rated, Jackson claimed to go against it in order to save the movie’s potential. Samuel L. Jackson explained,

In this day and age, you can show snake strikes. You can see them bite. You see the injection of venom…But we weren’t doing any of that stuff when we were shooting. And also, nobody was cursing.

Thus, the actor vowed not to repeat the same mistake that his 2003 S.W.A.T committed by making it a PG-13-rated movie.

We did SWAT that way…But I was insistent, all the time shooting Snakes, that we should go ahead and do it anyway.”
