Emma Stone suffered an Asthma Attack in Easy A

Among all the memorable scenes that the 2010’s Easy A comprises, filming one of those sequences wasn’t as fun as the scene appeared onscreen. During the filming of Olive and Brandon’s fake s*x scene, where the two just keep on jumping and shouting on the bed, Emma Stone revealed filming the sequence was extremely tiring for the actors. And following its filming, Stone suffered an asthma attack, which she explained during a hilarious interview with MTV News. The actress stated,

“Oh, for the love, I can’t even simulate s*x without dying! I had a little asthma attack, without any prior knowledge that I had asthma, during the scene where we had to jump up and down for hours and hours screaming and yelling on the bed. [It] was humiliating, because it was the second day of shooting,”

But despite suffering from health problems while crafting the sequence, her struggles definitely paid off, as it resulted in one of the funniest sequences in the movie, which fans cherish to this day.

Working in Easy A was an exhausting process for Emma Stone

Although the movie did eventually push Emma Stone to her stardom, the La La Land actress doesn’t have many fond memories from her experience in the production of Easy A. According to the A-lister, considering that she was the one with the responsibility to carry the film, the actress put a lot of pressure on herself, which was too much for her at the time. Stone recalled,

“I was 20 and I put so much pressure on myself. While we were shooting it, I was just going nuts and was like, ‘I don’t know, this whole thing could fall apart, I have no idea.’ Because I had to be there all day, every day. And if I wasn’t on screen, I was narrating, and it was just too much me… I think I just put so much pressure on myself”

Even though the movie comprises one of the actress’ best performances, Emma Stone revealed that she still hasn’t watched Easy A from start to finish. Although it does seem surprising at first, considering that a lot of great actors don’t enjoy watching themselves perform, Stone’s perspective does seem understandable.

Easy A is available to stream on Apple TV.
