Sylvester Stallone-led The Expendables 4 Film Producers on the Future Projects of the Franchise
Sylvester Stallone has starred in several big-budgeted, blockbuster, and action-packed movies in his thriving career and has led many long-running franchises like The Expendables. The actor made his head-turning debut as Barney Ross, starting with the 2010 action thriller film The Expendables, and reprised his role in the follow-up sequels.
The fourth sequel of the lucrative franchise will soon hit theaters, and Stallone had earlier mentioned that this film would be his last appearance in the franchise. The film producers Kevin King-Templeton and Les Weldon recently opened up about the future of The Expendables franchise, revealing the possibility of another sequel. They claimed that it would only happen under one condition. Speaking with Daily Express, Templeton said,
“As long as there’s an appetite for it.. nothing is off the table. We don’t know. It’s all about the fans.”
He continued,
“You have to change a little because the cast is getting older. We evolved a little bit. We used the Jackie Chan stunt team, so there’s definitely a lot of that Asian martial arts influence.”
While the upcoming action thriller film The Expendables 4 will soon hit theaters, the film producers have subtly confirmed that if fans of the franchise demand them to make another sequel, then there is a possibility for The Expendables 5.
Sylvester Stallone Shares His Experience Working in the Upcoming Sequel
In 2021, Sylvester Stallone took to Instagram to announce that he had done filming his scenes for the upcoming action-packed movie. The actor shared an emotional video on the platform while recording himself walking on the set of his movie upcoming flick and claimed: “he is ready to pass the baton on to his co-star Jason Statham.” He began by saying,
“It’s time to be moving on, and this will be my last day, so I’m enjoying it, but it’s always bittersweet,” adding, “When something you’ve been so attached to, I guess it’s been about 12 years, and I’m ready to pass the baton on to Jason [Statham] and his capable hands.”
He continued,
“The greatest thing is being able to provide films and entertainment, and maybe there’s a little message in there because what I try to convey in my successful films is the human touch, the bond. Not so much the action, the action is self-evident, but just relating to the audience in a way they can identify with whatever the mission is with the characters at hand.”
