Differentiating himself from everyone in the industry just on the basis of the sheer amount of success that he has amassed in his career. Dwayne Johnson is known to bring something new and unique to the table with his projects, all the while adhering to the wants and demands of the public, which is one of the reasons for his fame and fortune. Therefore, when he was asked about who he felt should become the next Bond in the 007 franchise, he replied that it was time for the world to witness a revolution and see a Black James Bond in action.

In a past interview, the Moana star was faced with the aforementioned question, and while many might’ve thought that he too would pick Henry Cavill for the role like most people, he nominated his Fast and Furious spin-off film Hobbs and Shaw co-star Idris Elba to play the British Superspy after Daniel Craig relinquished the role after 2021’s No Time To Die. As he had worked with Elba in his film before, he had confidence that he would be able to do justice to the role. He said:

“I do like the idea of my boy Idris Elba being Bond though, right? I like that idea a lot, so I’m an advocate for that, for him as Bond.”

While there may be many stars in the running for the role of the most iconic spy, Idris Elba sat at the top of that list.

As stated before, there may be many stars that fit the description for the next Bond, but the selection process is quite stringent and meticulous. So far, the name of English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson and The Mountain Between Us star were circulating as the most likely candidates to be chosen for the role. But after Elba revealed that he wasn’t interested in playing the role of Bond, Henry Cavill’s name has been flying high as the most likely star to claim the title of Agent 007.
