The transformation was not easy at all, and when Hanks was giving an interview to Entertainment Weekly ahead of the film’s release, he shared how he absolutely refused to give up on coffee, despite some serious changes in his diet.

In a separate interview, he stated that playing the role has put him under immense mental stress, as he was mostly working in isolation, which almost affected his sanity.

“Yeah, I don’t even recall hearing ‘action’ and ‘cut’. You just kind of like wander into the frame and wander out, and that’s how we shot the movie. It could have been very, very undisciplined, but Bob got what he needed, so thank god.”
While his transformation earned him immense recognition from fans around the world, on the other hand, it has immensely affected his health, and he might not go under such transformation in other movies, due to suffering from diabetes.
