Natalie Portman, the Israeli-American actress has been known to the world as Padmé Amidala in the $10.3 billion franchise Star Wars. Appearing in the prequel movies of the franchise, the world eventually saw her character’s demise when Padmé Amidala died while giving birth to Luke and Leia Skywalker.

Having portrayed the character back in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, fans haven’t seen Portman portraying Amidala since 2005. Wanting her return, Natalie Portman revealed that she would also be open to an offer from the franchise for a reprise of Padmé Amidala!

Natalie Portman Wishes To Return To The Star Wars Franchise

Well, after portraying the character of Padmé Amidala for seven years, fans last saw Natalie Portman in the 2005 movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. With the latest news that Star Wars is preparing itself for the next generation, fans could possibly see a reprisal of the iconic character with the return of Natalie Portman.

In an interview with GQ, the Black Swan actress revealed that she is ready for reprisal for the next generation of the Star Wars Universe if they ask her to. With multiple spin-offs and sequels and prequels set in the universe, the Star Wars franchise is truly preparing for the next generation of fans and Natalie Portman wants to be a part of it.

“I have no information on this. No one’s ever asked me to return, but I’m open to it.”

It seems that the No Strings Attached actress is indeed eager to make her return to the world of lightsabers and dictators. There is yet no confirmation whether Portman is set to return to the franchise or not but fans could only hope for the return of Padmé Amidala.

The actress further revealed in the interview that although her role was so iconic, notable director Taika Waititi once forgot about her existence in the Star Wars universe. Talking about working with the director on the sets of Thor: Love and Thunder, Portman revealed that he offered her a role in the Star Wars universe but had forgotten that she was already a part of it.

“He says he did, ‘cause he like asked me if I wanted to be in a Star Wars movie. And I was like, ‘I was!’ I thought he was joking. He’s such a joker, that I thought it was a joke. And then afterwards, he said in some interview, that he like, was cringing afterwards.”

There have been yet no confirmations regarding Natalie Portman’s reprisal in the $10.4 billion franchise. The actress is attached to 3 other upcoming projects and may return to the franchise if the need for Padmé Amidala ever arises.
